Bug Description

We should clearly log when users log into codehosting and when they log out. It should be easy to parse this log to find the number of logins and the number of distinct logins per day.

See bug 54616.

the linked bug is private. Can you please explain why you need to collect that data? How long is it going to be kept?

The linked bug talks about collecting usage statistics, specifically a graph of how many different people use bazaar.launchpad.net each day.

We want to keep a log for the same reason and in the same way as a normal SSH server: we want to know who's logging into our system. We've wanted this information in the past when trying to track down once-off performance issues, or help users who have broken branches.

As for how long we'll keep it, by default we'll follow the same policy as the rest of Launchpad and keep it permanently: https://help.launchpad.net/PrivacyPolicy.
