Bug Description

Please see Ubuntu forums thread. I've tried only 1 CD, but ISO MD5Checksum is
fine, and 24x burn speed is within capacity. CD-R is readable from Windows.

SATA is not used -- using P-ATA hard drive.

Suspect hardware incompatibility with Kubuntu-Live. Details on hw are in thread.

This is for Kub-Live 5.10.

I want to reopen that bug for Gutsy testing installer.

I'm trying to install the latest Gutsy RC downloaded from Svedish mirror,
but no success. The installer still hangs at 18% retrieving libc6-udeb package.
I'm sure that downloaded ISO file is OK, because I checked it using md5sum.

I also ran a media integrity check, but it fails. It's not probably a hardware
failure, because I checked the installer on my 2 Dell PowerEdge 1550
machines and the bug occures on both of them.

I'm so sorry for confusing. It seems that my CD-ROMs are
too old and I should simply change them.

I was trying to install Feisty, but the problem is the same,
so now I'm quite sure that it's a hardware failure.

However I can see a progress, because now the installer hangs
on 21% of getting libc6-udeb package, instead of 18% ;)

Update:

I've installed Feisty successfully using minimal ISO file :)
Now I used CD-R disk of TDK instead of Verbatim. Do you
think that it matter? ;)

Update:

The Gutsy installer is fine! It was a problem with my CD-ROMs.

I've installed Gutsy RC without any issues on my another,
but a new machine.
