Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
Ubuntu 8.04.1, firefox-3.0 3.0+nobinonly-
With Firefox 3, using Full Screen mode, having turned off View -> Status
Bar and Navigation Toolbar, results in a short hint of a toolbar at the
top of the screen above the web page. When the pointer moves over it,
it expands, sliding the web page down, to show the tabs.
If, however, there's no tabs in this browser window, and Preferences ->
Tabs -> Always show the tab bar is set to off so the tab bar isn't
visible outside of Full Screen, then on selecting Full Screen the hint
of a toolbar appears as before but moving the pointer over it makes it
disappear completely and then come back before it disappears again, ad
infinitum.
The expected behaviour is that the short toolbar hint isn't there at all
so the web page truly gets all the vertical space on the screen, and
nothing happens when the pointer moves to the top edge of the screen.
With Firefox 2, I used to be able to use Full Screen to compare subtlely
different photos. Each was on a web page with a black background.
Navigation between them was by keyboard. Now, with that annoying
light-gray rectangle starring brightly at the top of the screen, the eye
is distracted from the main event; the photos. Comparison is no longer
possible.
