Changing hardware profile for sound system freezes kde

Bug Description

Kde freezes when I do:

kde control panel > sound > sound system > hardware > select alsa or autodetect
as hardware profile.

I have to use ctrl+alt+backspace to get contact with the pinguin again.

Good evening,

I noticed the last update on this bug was 2005-10-25. I am wondering what the current status of this bug is. Are you still having problems with changing the hardware profile and the sound system freezing? If so can you please update this bug with the version of Kubuntu you are using where you are still seing this bug?
