Asus EEE PC 901 has non-working wired connection out of box

The Eee PC 901 has non-working wired connection out of the box. The 901 needs the atl1e driver to function correctly. Driver can be compiled manually from:

As both wired and wireless do not work out of box this makes for a very annoying issue to fix.

I can confirm that this bug still is active in Intrepid Alpha 6. In addition, the driver source now fails to compile.
