Bug Description

This is what I do:

-I make sure that my wireless network isn't saved by nm-applet by right clicking on nm, and select "Edit Wireless Networks...". If I see my wireless network here, I delete it.
- Then I left click on nm, and click on my wireless network. It tells me that my network is encrypted and needs a password. I set the network name to "MyNetwork", the Wireless Security to "WEP 64/128 bits Hex" and set the key to "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa". The connect button appears, I set the Authentication to "Shared Key" and click on connect. In a few seconds, I am connected to my wireless network, everything is fine.

Then, I right click on nm, and choose "Edit wireless networks" I select "MyNetwork" and check the "Show key" check box. It displays the key which is NOT "aaa...". If I try to reconnect to my network, it fails. If I reboot my computer, nm cannot connect either. If I delete the key by going in "Edit wireless connection", nm asks me for my key and it can then connect.

I am having a very similar problem. In my case, the only way I can restore my network connection after a restart/shutdown is to delete the network via "Edit Wireless Networks" then click on my wireless network in the list presented by nm-applet.

Looking at the password in the details for my network in "Edit Wireless Networks" shows the wrong password; it's actually my old WEP password from before my switch to WPA with TKIP. Changing the password and clicking on Set Password does not save the new open.

I am running Ubunut 8.04 with nm-applet 0.6.6 with a Netgear WG311T NIC.

The only relevant info I can glean from /var/log/syslog is this:

Note that this is before I delete the network via "Edit Wireless Networks". After the deletion I get this:

I was also affected by this, but it seems to have been fixed since it's been working smoothly for quite some time (>= a couple of weeks).

I have the same problem starting on Jaunty 9.04 upgrade. However, I cannot connect at all, since the password gets changed at the moment of connection.
