Bug Description
I had wubi installer install ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Herron) on my machine.
I downloaded the intrepid alpha alternative disk.
I booted into wubi linux.
It prompted me to update using the intrepid alternative disk.
It updated almost to the end, but then I got an error.
I wish I could remember the exact error.
It told me it would leave my version of linux in an unstable state.
I can no longer boot the wubi-installer version of linux on my machine, I believe it brings me to init level 1 and I cannot get past that level (I don't know how to do that).
To post a comment you must log in.
when I boot wubi now it shows
initrmfs
and there are only a limited number of commands I can use at this point.
I was trying to mount a drive but was unable to using the normal
mount /dev/sda1 /
command, because the / was already mounted with something.
I tried init 5 but that didn't work either.
I am not sure what to do except to uninstall wubi and reinstall it...
But on the other hand I want to learn more about ubuntu which I feel I could do if I learned more about initrmfs
