Bug Description

Binary package hint: synaptic

Just after I installed some gnome-update packages thru Hardy-proposed (pre-releases) Hardy-security updates were not selected and it was not possible to select them.

New upstream version filter appears while there's no more updates to perform.

The issue of default unselected security updates comes from python-apt:

I forced back python-apt (and update-notifier packages) to the hardy version. Now security updates is selected by default. I'll update the bug report to reflect this.

Yet there are still 2 small issues:

+ The new upstream version filter still appears while there are no more updates to perform.

+ When reloading after loading then unchecking pre-release updates the following error message appears (though it doesn't show up on subsequent hardy-security+updates reloads, once synaptic has been restarted):

Accepted into intrepid-proposed, the package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!
