When I open new emails, the message is from the same unrelated email. On numerous occasions the email is a combination of several emails in various forms.
Also note that the spam filter is not clearing spam as well as expected.

Thank you for your reply.
I was unable to resolve the problem, so I removed the program and
reinstalled it. I still had some quirks with the new install. In the
interim, I managed to crashed my Kubuntu 7.04 beyond my ability to
repair while attempting to back up my system. I wiped the slate clean
and updated to Kubuntu 8.10. Life is good.
