Hi Max, thanks for using Ubuntu and thanks for taking the time to file this bug report! I think what Cesare was trying to explain is that lxlauncher is not a package in the Hardy repositories and as such is not supported by Ubuntu. As a result, this is not a bug against Ubuntu. It is possible although not overwhelmingly likely that lxlauncher is capable of working with libpango 1.20.1; you should contact them and if so file a bug report in whatever tracker they may use. Either way, to fix this issue you need to upgrade your libpango by obtaining it from a different source, such as a PPA, another deb repository, or uninstalling the Hardy version and compiling from the latest source.

However it may please you to know that lxlauncher is in the Intrepid repositories (Ubuntu 8.10) and as a result will be officially supported in the next release of Ubuntu.

tx Mike :)

i reported this bug because in the lxde ppa page there is a list box
that allows to choose between three apt sources.list entries, and hardy
is one of the possible choice.
so the lxde ppa page suggests that there is a repository not only for
intrepid and hardy, but also for gutsy.
i was wrongly supposing that the lxde ppa repository manteiners were the
ones also directly responsible for all the ubuntu lxde packages
i will try to submit this bug directly to the lxde ppa team.

many thanks anyway.

ps sorry for my english ;-)
