Hi Steve
I've had a look at your DpkgTerminalLog from another of your bug reports, and I think that all the other bugs you've just reported from your upgrade are duplicates of this one--I'm just about to go through and mark them as such.
For some reason, this package (fontconfig-config) failed to upgrade successfully. Two lines in the Dpkg log are the first time it hits an error:
"dpkg: error processing fontconfig-config (--configure):
package fontconfig-config is already installed and configured"
It then carries on, but lots of the remaining packages have dependencies that ultimately include the new version of this package, so they all report an error and fail to upgrade themselves, triggering more dependency problems.
Can you try:
- Verify, from a package manager, that it has the latest version of fontconfig-config, and if not, force it to upgrade (if necessary, download the latest version by using Ubuntu package search in firefox, and use dpkg -i to install it).
- If it already says it has the latest version, do "sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config" to make sure it's clear about what version it's got installed.
- Then run "sudo dpkg --configure -a" to make it upgrade all the other packages.
