Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

When I installed exit I noticed it was clearing my private data on exit (which I did not want). I went into my options and unchecked this. Every time I close firefox it's checked again and clears my data. I tried changing other details since then but it seems that no matter what I do the options always come back.

By "installed exit", what do you mean? Is this some firefox add-on? Searching the add-on database finds "exit button firefox"--is this it? Does the same thing happen if you disable the add-on?

oops, typo. What I meant was since I installed 3.0, when I exit firefox...

This option is unticked by default, at least for me. If you create a new user account, does it still happen?

How do I create a new user account in firefox?

Sorry, I didn't make that very clear. A new user account on Ubuntu, then log in to it and start firefox--firefox will have a totally 'clean' configuration, with none of the changes you have made in your own account.

I see I made another mistake when I submitted the bug. I am not running Ubuntu, I'm running Windows Vista SP1

I did make a new user account and the problem still exists. Every time I uncheck 'clear private data on exit', the next time I open firefox it is checked again.

Ah...ummm...

I'm afraid this is kind of a system for reporting bugs about Ubuntu. While I wish you the best of luck solving your problem, I don't know much about Vista, and it doesn't really belong as a bug report on Launchpad. ;-)

I'd suggest you try the support options for Firefox at http://www.mozilla.org/support/
