No usplash after Breezy upgrade

Bug Description
I upgraded my hoary machine to breezy and usplash doesn't seem to be working: on
boot I still get lots of text, as with hoary, and no pretty splash screen. The
first graphical thing to appear is the login screen.

sudo apt-get install usplash && sudo dpkg-reconfigure linux-image-`uname -r`
