ALT-* combinations are never sent to VM

Bug Description

Binary package hint: virt-manager

Even if the VM has focus (the pointer is locked in the window), ALT-* combinations are not being sent to the VM. I know CTRL-ALT-* combinations must be sent via the Send Key menu, but ALT-* without the control should be sent. They aren't. For example, ALT-s always brings up the Send Key menu, etc.

I can confirm. That quite limits the use of some programs, eg. Midnight Commander.

Workaround - use NX server to access the virtualised OS.
