layers not synchronised between duplicated windows

when viewing a document in multiple (duplicated) windows, layers are not synchronised between them.

How to reproduce:

Create a document
Go to view > duplicate window
In the duplicated window, create a new layer
In the original window, the layer list does not show the new layer

I expect the new layer to show in the original window's layer list. The list does get synchronised if one creates an object in the new layer and selects it in the original window.

probably related: clones get pasted into the wrong layer when there is a duplicated window

steps to reproduce:

create a document, duplicate window, create two layers
so you have window1, window2, layer1, layer2
select layer1 in window1, layer2 in window2
in window1, create a rectangle, clone it and copy the clone
in window2, paste the clone

consequence:

the clone is pasted into layer1

expected:

the clone should be pasted into layer2

Note that if the pasted object is not a clone, it is indeed pasted in layer2

Note: both problem are with inkscape 0.46 on mac

fixed in Inkscape 0.47 on OS X 10.5.8: The layer list in the original window is correctly updated after adding a new layer in the duplicate window.
