Bug Description

error reported while doing a update of Ubuntu from Gutsy to Hardy.
and bug automatically created by the distribution update tool.

extract (in french) of the terminal window at the end of the update.

Thanks for you bug report.

Could you post two slapd.conf files:
 * /etc/ldap/slapd.conf
 * there should be another one in /var/backups/slapd-2.3.35-1ubuntu0.2/.

Remove any reference to rootpw and other confidential information.

Thanks for the summary update, I made an error when specifying the Ubuntu versions.
The two slapd.conf files you are specifying are the same, so I am attaching only one,
after removal of the root password.

Note that this conf file was a test, I never completed
for usage of slapd.

Thanks for posting your slapd.conf. The configuration file is not valid, thus slapd wasn't functional before the upgrade. I'd expect the upgrade to fail on a non-working configuration as this highlights a problem with the system.
