Music player starts in all user sessions

Bug Description

We frequently use the "Switch User" capability and maintain two or three sessions at a time. When one user inserts a music CD the music player starts (as expected). However, when returning to another user's session, we find that the music player was started in that session as well. Furthermore the window decorations are missing from the application when this happens; I was able to close the music player by right-clicking its representation in the taskbar and selecting close.

I expected that the music player would be confined to running within the current user's session only.

Unfortunately I am not at the computer exhibiting the problem right now, so I cannot get the exact output of 'lsb_release -rd' but I can say it is release 8.04 and up-to-date as of 2008/06/23.

Thanks for taking the time to help make Ubuntu better. However, the real important thing to know right now in order to package this bug and triage it, is what music player was it? Rhythmbox?

Yes, it was Rhythmbox (the window title for Rhythmbox is just Music Player).

$ apt-cache policy rhythmbox

Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported, but feel free to report any other bugs you find.

The issue is a nautilus one and not specific to music player, it does the same when plugging an usb key for example

Thank you for the follow up. Is the nautlius bug you are referring to publicly available somewhere? If so, could you provide a link?

there is several bugs about that on launchpad not sure about the number though, looking for the exact number for duplicate is quite some work and I'll let some bug triager look at that rather

No offense, but it strikes me as a poor practice to mark a bug invalid, make a comment that it is a duplicate, but not provide the specific bug report for which it is a duplicate. That is a recipe for losing issues. Who is going to be triaging bugs marked as invalid?
