Bug Description

Hi,
today I tried to update the envy nvidia packages from hardy-updates, from 169.12 to 173.14.05 (uploaded today - I think - in the hardy-updates repository). The installation goes well, but, after rebooting the system, KDM (I use kubuntu) doesn't start. I found these rows in /var/log/messages:

NVRM: failed to copy vbios to system memory.
NVRM: RmInitAdapter failed! (0x30:0xffffffff:892)
NVRM: rm_init_adapter(0) failed

I found some information here: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=113929
It seems they resolved the problem with the new 173.14.09 driver.
So far, back to 169.12 resolved my problem.

Thanks,
Domingo

Now I can confirm that after upgrading to 173.14.09 everything works fine.
You can find the driver here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_173.14.09.html

Please upgrade envyng with this release, if you can.

Bye,
Scido
