The current Debian version fix the bashism (last Ubuntu change), so it can be synced.

sopwith (1.7.1-3.1) unstable; urgency=low

   * Non-maintainer upload.
   * Applied patch from Jon Dowland to fix build failure using dash as

Have you checked the complete Ubuntu delta? (http://patches.ubuntu.com/s/sopwith/sopwith_1.7.1-3ubuntu2.patch)
Then you should see that the debdiff contains also a desktop file and an icon for it which should be merged.

I miss the breezy changes.. you're correct, it's missing an icon and desktop file.

Since it's been a very long time since any additional info was added to this bug, I'm just checking to see if this is still an issue, and find out what additional work should be done on this bug.
