I getting these messages in VMware 2.0.0 build 116503 running on a OpenSuSE 10.3 host OS with a OpenSuSE 11.0 guest - anybody know how to get rid of these messages? (Sorry for not running Ubuntu at this time)

We get them with ESX 3.5 on all Linux VMs.
I'll try turning off snmpd and rebooting, see what happens.

Indeed snmpd is the problem. This doesn't happen on our hardware servers, and evidence on the Web indicates the same: it's a VMware issue.
