unable to type admin password in terminal

Bug Description

i go to updates and it loads and gives me this error when i try to apply changes when it starts loading:

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

i go to the terminal and input this (sudo dpkg --configure -a). and asks for my admin password, and it will not let me enter it. i tryed copy paste, on a different keyboard, hitting the keyboard with a hammer, nothing works. please help

If you mean that it's not showing up, then it's meant to not show up. You get no visual confirmation via terminal that the password is being typed.

Just type your password as normal and hit enter, it should make you a root user that way (as long as you get the password right).
