Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Since the last firefox update pages have been displaying in a buggy manner. It is difficult to read most pages, submitting this bug is even difficult!
I have attached some images since I have no idea how to describe the problem. After taking the screenshots the display goes normal until I scroll up or down. I can often fix the problem in a certain area by highlighting it, however when I do that the problem just moves to a different bit of text.

I used to get this problem now and then after updating firefox with firefox running, but it always resolved itself after closing and re-opening firefox, however this is not the case this time.

Perhaps a scrolling issue with the X.org driver? I am seeing the same, not just in firefox, but in all applications that scroll. I have an Intel graphics adaptor.

My graphics card is Nvidia, but this only happens with firefox, not anything else, and only since the last firefox update.

I get this too, again with Nvidia gfx, and only on FF. (See attached png)

I have found a (rather unsatisfactory) workaround - In FF's toolbar, select View / Page Style / No style.

I've just manually installed the latest Nvidia driver (177.68 beta) and I no longer see this problem.
However, I've only been using FF for 10 minutes since the install.

Nvidia's changelog does mention fixing some caching bugs, so maybe that's what it was all along?

Please disregard my last comment.

I'm still getting the garbled FF window, but only with some sites. Possibly the sites are using b0rked CSS?

I have integrated Nvida, but installed a Radeon x1550 PCI Express to replace it. I've seen the bug illustrated above with my Bit Defender application as I scroll down, but not as I scroll up.

Firefox, for me has another display problem... that is I don't see it in I.E. I'll look elsewhere for the bug report, but thought this comment might add perspective.

In firefox, try disabling your addons. This resolved a similar issue I was having (the addon in particular turned out to be pageloader).

Sometimes bad Firefox behaviors are caused by third party extensions. Could you please try Firefox with a new profile:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs?action=show&redirect=DebuggingFirefox#Try%20with%20a%20new%20profile

Also, could you please let us know which version of Firefox you are running. If you are not running 3.0.10, could you please upgrade and see if this is still an issue?
Thanks, and feel free to submit any new bugs you may encounter.
