computer freeze on kvm startup

Binary package hint: kvm

kvm freezes computer on kvm startup unless noapic kernel option is specified in host system.

This may have something to do with 0x80 delay port, because this hardware suffered from the #200057 bug.

I need a little more information to troubleshoot this bug...

 1) Are you still able to reproduce this problem?
 2) If so, what hosts OS's? Hardy? Intrepid? Jaunty? What arch (i686, or amd64)?
 3) Can you give some detail on your CPU? cat /proc/cpuinfo
 4) What is the command line you use to launch the guest?

If you're running Hardy, could you please test this using the kvm-84 package in this PPA:
 * https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-virt/+archive/ppa

Does this solve the issue, or is it reproducible?

I believe that this issue has been solved in upstream kvm and released in Ubuntu 9.04.
