Hi malcom, thanks for using Ubuntu and taking to time to file this bug report! Could you please try going to the Edit Menu in Firefox and selecting Preferences, then clicking the Privacy tab. Under cookies see if "Accept cookies from sites" is checked or not. Is it? You will also be able to manage Exceptions there.
This doesn't sound like a bug, more of a question. Did you at one point disable cookies? Or were cookies working fine before the upgrade?
