Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem-gstreamer

I have used totem-gstreamer to view MPEG2 streams (ASF stream). Now it does not work anymore - perhaps because of an update? The stream I am watching is coming from ZoneMinder (http://www.zoneminder.com/). I get the error message "Stream contains no data.".

I will attach some logs...

Thanks for your report, Which version of ubuntu are you running? Hardy is using gstreamer-ffmpeg 0.10.3-6 which hasn't changed since february, so i don't think it's a problem with an update, does the same happens with rhythmbox? thanks.

does gst-launch playbin uri=file:///path/to/video works ok? i don't think it's a totem bug.

gst-launch seems to have some problems with http/s streams...

Could not open vfs file "https:" for reading: URI ungültig (13)

"URI ungültig" is german for "invalid URI".

Ok. I can call gst-launch with gnomevfssrc and location option:

% gst-launch-0.10 -v --gst-debug-level=4 gnomevfssrc location='https://test:<email address hidden>/cgi-bin/nph-zms?mode=mpeg&monitor=3&scale=100&bitrate=25000&maxfps=5&format=asf&rand=1214548992' &>|gst-launch.txt

I attached the debug logfile.

I can start gst-launch - but nothing happens.

do you still get the issue? do you have a player reading this video correctly? other software having the same issue seems to indicate that the server is buggy rather

Does this bug still happen in Intrepid ? And in Jaunty ? The new release of ffmpeg might maybe help.
