Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdelibs

In Kubuntu 8.04 (KDE 3.5.9) in System Settings - Network Settings - Network Connections - Network Interface tab: column "State" is translated as "Stát", but right is "Stav". First I thought, that the translation is incorrect in knetworkconf, but here it is OK. Only when I correct string "State" to "Stav" in kdelibs, then the translation is correctly. I reported bug in Bugs Database http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=164464 , but without success.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, Ubuntu gets its translations from the translations portion of Launchpad ([WWW] http://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/), where translation teams work on making Ubuntu more useful in their language. If you want to change a translation in Ubuntu there is the right place.

Has this been fixed? If not, could you please change it in Launchpad's Rosetta system?

This bug has not been fixed. The problem is, that knetworkconf module uses for translation of string "State" this translation from kdelibs.po, which is intended for application "kcertpart", and this is bad. It would be right, when knetworkconf takes this translation from knetworkconf.po (here is the translation OK). So this bug must resolve the developer of knetworkconf.
Seeing that in Kubuntu 8.10 is default desktop KDE4, I think not, that it will be easy.

Since knetworkconf is totally busted and seemingly unmaintained upstream, we are removing knetworkconf from distribution.
