If its a malicious site causing this issue, then its not really a bug relating directly to Firefox.

I'd have to disagree. If a site is allowed to hijack the browser, that's a bug.

In this case, the place to address this issue would be upstream at bugzilla.mozilla.org. But realistically, malicious sites should be blocked by Firefox. Do you have this enabled in firefox?

I haven't done anything to disable that protection from Firefox. I know that functionality exists.

As for bugzilla, I submitted a report there as well, I submitted one here because this is where the menu item Help->Report a Problem sent me.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The giving site does no longer exist. Is this still an issue for you with other sites?
