Bug Description

Hi,

I am using hardy heron and in this i noticed a bug that internet connection through wireless router(in my home) doesn't automatically reconnects.

If due to power cut or by any reason router is restarted ubuntu hardy doesn't reconnects it and only way to reconnect the internet is to manually connect by reentering hexadecimal pass phrase. This problem is not in Gutsy Gibbon that automatically reconnects the wireless internet after router is down by any reason.

Thanks

Don't set you own bugs to confirmed. Is this still an issue in Intrepid?

I'm having the same symptoms as the original reporter, except it worked for me in Hardy, and doesn't in Intrepid.

In Hardy, if my wireless connection dropped, it would eventually reconnect.

After upgrading to Intrepid, when my wireless connection drops, it acts like it is attempting to reconnect, but it *always* eventually fails, and presents the password dialog (but clicking okay on the password dialog doesn't work). If I reselect the wireless network from network-manager applet menu, it connects just fine. If I reselect the network *while* it is attempting (and failing) to automatically reconnect, it will restart the animation and generally connects just fine.

Unfortunately, the wireless router at my office very regularly drops everyone, so I get to experience this several times per day. ;-)

On a whim, I deleted all of the wireless passwords (using seahorse) and all of the wireless connections ("Edit Connections..."), and then reconnected... but that didn't solve anything.

Correction to earlier statement: "but clicking okay on the password dialog doesn't work". It worked this last time. :-)

However the password dialog came up behind my currently active window, and it required user intervention to reconnect.
