Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox
Hi.
Upon visiting YouTube last night I managed to play 1x video in small screen mode sucessfully, and upon playing a second video, Firefox then froze at the end of the second video. Then went into an audio loop and just wouldn't allow me to do anying else with Firefox. I managed to close down 2 other small running applications (Pidgin IM & Mozilla Thunderbird) but not Firefox. I had to restart the machine which then on restart gave me errors on start up in Unbuntu, going into Recovery mode sorted out that problem, but I still cannot visit YouTube without some kind of problem occouring on this machine. It works fine on 3 other machines here 2 running PC Linux OS the other (a laptop) running Vista. This is NOT the first time this has happened on this machine.
Linux Ubuntu, release 8.04 (Hardy). Kernel Linux 2.6.24-17 Generic. Gnome 2.22.2 Hardware: 1.5Gb RAM, Intel Celeron 2.66GHz. Available disk space 54.1Gb

You should not have to reboot to end a non responsive application, as long as the rest of "x" is still working.
Open a terminal, type the command "xkill" (without the quotes).
Your cursor is now an application killer, just put it over the application that won't die and left click once.
There are other non-gui ways to do it also, but I suspect, this would have worked for you here.
