Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Hello,

I am on linux (ubuntu 8.04 Hardy) and I am connected to internet in France thanks to "Neuf": I am able to have access to the TV using the site: http://tvsurpc.neuf.fr/index.html (probably only accessible to people using the Neuf Opearator in France).
When I switch TV channel, Firefox 3 crashes.

Regards,
Salvatore

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you please try to obtain a backtrace by following the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs, or upload (as an attachment) the crash report from /var/crash/.

Also, please answer these questions:
Is this crash reproducible? If so, which are the steps that lead to it?
Which flash package do you have installed?
Which Java package do you have installed?
Which Firefox extensions do you have installed?

This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. To answer your questions:
1) The crash is totally reproductible. each time we go on the website, run a channel (it works) and change channel after, then we have the crash. We can notice and if we relorad the page before changing channel, it doesn't crash...
2) 3) and 4): I tried to run firefox in safe mode (disable all extension) and it still crashes with the following merssage:
"[00000001] main private debug: removing all video outputs
[00000001] main private debug: removing all audio outputs
[00000001] main private debug: removing module "memcpy"
Erreur de segmentation"

Flash package: flashplugin-nonfree 9.0.124.0ubuntu2
java package: ??? How to get it?

You will find attached the output in the terminal when I run firefox in safe mode. I hope it will help.

Hello John,

I am running java6. I made the debugging in a virtual machine (to not work directly in production) and I attached the output of GDB. I was NOT able in GDB to write the following commands:
bt full
thread apply all backtrace full

because after the crash of firefox, gdb finished.

I hope it will help and sorry for my late answer.

Salvatore
