5.25 picks up channels better than any higher version

I was just in a forum in ubuntuforums.org and I just realized something after he mentioned about the channels not locking long enough. I discovered the same issue and just found out that after 10 minutes of usage, the screen kinda locks up and skips every so often on versions higher than 5.25. For some reason, 5.25 works best in keeping channels locked.

yes. That is why I reverted back to 5.25 from 5.30. I recently had 5.26 and went back to 5.25 for the same reason a while back when I got my kworld 115. I mean 5.26 and up works fine and all but for some reason, it has issues with more channels than the 5.25. Like for example, In version 5.26 and 5.30, I was not able to view channel 4 and channel 2 without doing some major antenna adjustments. 5.25 needs no antenna adjustments at all.

I hope this information helps you guys in future versions and looking forward to 5.32.

Just out of interest, how big is the ~/.me-tv/epg.xml?

hmm talking about the epg problem in my case, how does one get placed into the /.me-tv directory. I installed the me-tv but never saw a epg .xml created. Another issue I have with me-tv is if I instalme-tv in a fresh installof ubuntu, If I install me-tv 5.30 just to say, t will not launch. It installs but will not launch. If I use add-remove program in ubuntu and install me-tv and then install the 5.30 without installing the previous version, it will launch. the add-remove program also unstalls needed libraries which the newer versions do not or depends on. To get back to your question, I Never found out how to create a epg.xml file and maybee that is the reason why I am having problems with my epg not working in my other post under bugs in epg.

I can't replicate this so you're going to have isolate which source revision caused the issue.

Hi! I finaly I was reading around the net and found one solution. I modified the ~/.me-tv/xine.config configuration from it's default to

.version:2
engine.buffers.audio_num_buffers:1024
engine.buffers.video_num_buffers:2156

This works for me. at the moment, video is good. I was also playing around between the 2 versions before this problem, It was there. It seemed to me the sensitivity was much better in the 5.25 but fixing the buffers, i can't tell the difference.

hmmm....I'll get back to you on this one. I been using 5.25 for so long that after i upgraded, it was just a matter of time before one of the channels ate it. It is better but I'll keep you posted.

Hi! I'm currently running 5.31. Ill post back later about the playback. So far, i been watching television for a good 20 minutes and I havent expirienced any problems. Those other instances could of been related to something else that i can't figure out. My settings are changed as well. I moved my wifi and atsc antenna apart. They where next to each other. I doubt this was an issue but we will see how long this lasts.

well, I been watching the olympics on one of the channels and I have not seen any problems. This was one of the channels I was having problems with. It is most likely related to me placing the indoor antenna in a different location in my room. If I placed it back in the original spot, I did notice some problems. I am figuring it could of been a random problem and not related to me-tv.

HI! I just want to make an additional comment. My brother and I just recently noticed that our televisions in the living room and in the kitchen takes a crap dive in receiving signals from the air when our cellphones go off! I tried this with me-tv. My television was taking a crap dive when my girlfriend was using her cellphone.

We are using internal antennas with amplified signals. What we are going to do is add an external antenna within the next 2-3 months. I'll post back later. Appearantly, there is nothing wrong with me-tv and am using i think 5.31. The randomness of my lost signal stems from the cellphone phoning to the phone company randomly. As I don't understand why it does this but I can verify this when i place this on a stereo system and the strong outbound signal causes some strong and powerfull static sounds. My brother suggested me to turn of the cellphone when watching tv and that is what I have been doing for a while now.
