The problem occurs for the site "naxos music library".

http://utoronto.naxosmusiclibrary.com.myaccess.library.utoronto.ca/default.asp?page_name=s_contentquery&label=Classical%20Music

the steps i took is
1)click on a track
2)I attempt to play the media files

a little bar at the top appears prompting to "install missing plugins"

3)I pressed forward button

the window displays that "no suitable plugins were found"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The format of the media is WMA 9.0 so there should be plugin available to play the media.

Do you know if any of the available video plugins might be able to
deal with it? Could you please post the content-type used by the
object tag on that site?

I think mplayer could play this type of format

I think what your asking for is this "<embed type="application/x-mplayer2" pluginspage="http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/default.asp" Name="mediaplayer1" src="http://utoronto.naxosmusiclibrary.com.myaccess.library.utoronto.ca/NML_activePlaylist_mac.asp?s=quartet%7cq27872%5f101%7citt%7cnaxosmusiclibrary%2ecom%7cudmn%40nml64k%7cwma%7c064" AutoStart="true" ShowAudioControls="false" ShowControls="true" ShowDisplay="true" ShowPositionControls="true" PlayCount="1" Volume="0" width="200" height="45"></embed>
                </"

I posted the full source code above.

mplayer plugin thinks different. it doesnt announce this mime type to
be supported. Can you download the video to a file and then try to
play that with mplayer/totem directly?
