Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

sites tried: mail.google.com, reddit.com, http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/about, google.com

I have succesfully navigated to zero pages on my own (although I got here, didn't I!) that didn't invoke the following assert failure:

ASSERT: *** Search: _installLocation: engine has no file!

please attach the files that you get when running

 find $HOME/.mozilla/firefox -name extensions.\*

to this bug.

 status incomplete

then try to remove those files before starting firefox.

Got the same error on Hardy Heron. I apparently fixed it with the following procedure:

apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
apt-get dist-upgrade
reboot
recompile NVIDIA driver for the new kernel
overwrite xorg.conf with previously backedup working version
(the two latter I have to do every time the kernel, or the X server get updated)
reboot

Now i've got 3.01 release of Firefox and everything seems to be working fine, with no annoying messages every time I blink :)
