Confirmed on OOo 3.0 with FF2. Also bdmurray confirmed this happening on Abiword.

I'm not sure if this is a bug in FF or with OpenOffice/Abiword, so I am marking this as FF also to get input from Alexander.

Thanks,

Chris

Alexander,

Sorry I wasn't clear about that part. It is confirmed on FF2/FF3 and OOo 2.4.1/OOo 3.0beta. Also bdmurray confirmed it with Abiword (and I think FF3) as well.

This appears to be a firefox bug and not an OOo bug.

With current version of oowriter, if you start a new document and go here and drag those rectangle images from firefox over to oowriter, it will crash.

Apparently, Firefox and OpenOffice apps do not play well together.

In Ubuntu 10.10, went to http://www.mathsteacher.com.au/year7/ch12_length/06_rect/rect.htm selected the entire page via Ctrl+A, then dragged and dropped into blank libreoffice-writer file it printed the html code. Same webpage did Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C, the Ctrl+V into blank libreoffice-writer file, crashed the first time (auto-apport did not kick in, was not stracing, valgrinding, etc). The second and subsequent times, did not crash and pasted the webpage icons reasonably well.

There are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.
