Bug Description

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

Tried but got this response

dpkg: requested operation requires superuser privilege

This is a new instalation of 8.04 from CD and the first attempt at an update download.
