We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

     Type a url in the url bar in firefox 3 -> press enter -> Error window with the following error.
     Attached is the screen-shot of the error window.
     Same case with the search bar even.

2. the behavior you expected, and

3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
     I guess this is the problem with the 'auto suggest' urls and search strings.

Please be sure that you properly restarted firefox. relogin to be sure.

further try to disable your extensions in tools -> addons.

Disabling the old add-ons and a restarting firefox solved the problem.

Probably the restart did it. I just hit this exact bug.
For me the upgrade restart appeared to close and re-show the browser properly. But some component had left a hidden or invisible window open preventing a proper restart. The browser window that "restarted" was the old process. A manual cycle fixes it without additional changes.
