Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Fist of all, this doesn't happen every time but it does happen enough for it to be annoying.

I open Evolution and read all my mail, close it and then the next time I open it, some of the mails I have already read, are marked as unread again. This behavior also happens when you select the Inbox and mark all messages as read.

This started when I changed my gmail accounts from POP to IMAP so I think this is only an IMAP problem.

Both of my computers are affected, one is x86 and the other is x86_64. I'm using Ubuntu Hardy , all updates, Evolution 2.22.2-0ubuntu1.2

thank you for your bug report, how do you close evolution? are the mails incorrect marked as unread or is only the count wrong? do you get the issue on some other account?

It happens when I close the program with the "x" button and also when I shutdown my computer without exiting evolution first. I get the same behavior on both of my accounts, and both are with Gmail.

The emails are marked as unread, I have to click again on them and wait for 2 or 3 secs before its marked as read again.

May you please forward this to upstream since you're facing the issue? I've tried to reproduce this with no success. For forwarding instructions please have a look to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME ; leaving this as incomplete until it gets forwarded, thanks.

Has any progress been made with this bug? According to upstream, it doesn't look like it. This is especially annoying for me, as I have Evolution open at startup w/ Alltray, and I use Mail Notification with it. I usually get the same notifications at startup several times, and when I open Evolution itself, much of my new mail has mysteriously been unmarked as read.

I forgot to mention that this happens with POP mail too, as I use POP.
