Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

Nautilus in 8.04 automounts all my USB keys perfectly, handles files on them or transfers just fine, and while it appears to dismount them just fine (right-click -> UnMount Volume) the volume is NOT visually removed from Nautilus's Tree view.

In Nautilus's Places mode, the USB key is removed only after it is physically unplugged, not immediately on unmounting.

In Tree mode, the USB key is still 'visible' even after physically removing it from the USB socket.

Similar behaviour with SD cards mounted via a USB cardreader, in both Places & Tree modes.

Ubuntu 8.04, Nautilus 1:2.22.3-0ubuntu2, brand-new install of 8.04.

thank you for your bug report, could you run gvfs-mount -li before and after ejecting the usb storage and attach those to the bug?

All three of your questions are answered in my initial bug report...

Attached is the text file dump from "gvfs-mount -li" while one of my USB keys is mounted.

Attached is a text file dump from "gvfs-mount -li" after Nautilus has (supposedly) unmounted the same USB key.

the system seems to be working correctly, when the volume is mount you get the mount icon, when it's unmounted and still plugged you get the device icon which allow you to mount it again eaasily, what is the bug there? the icon should be remove when unplugging the device though, could you get a new gvfs-mount log then?
