Bug Description

Binary package hint: pcscd

svenar@control:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 8.04
Release: 8.04
svenar@control:~$ apt-cache policy pcscd
pcscd:
  Installed: 1.4.99-1ubuntu1
  Candidate: 1.4.99-1ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 1.4.99-1ubuntu1 0
        500 http://no.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/universe Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

When I tried to start pcscd via /etc/init.d/pcscd I get an error:

svenar@control:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/pcscd start
Starting PCSC Lite resource manager: Unknown option: syslog

Usage: /sbin/pcscd options
Options:
-a, --apdu log APDU commands and results
  -c, --config path to reader.conf
-f, --foreground run in foreground (no daemon),
send logs to stderr instead of syslog
  -h, --help display usage information
-H, --hotplug ask the daemon to rescan the available readers
-v, --version display the program version number
-d, --debug display lower level debug messages
--info display info level debug messages (default level)
-e --error display error level debug messages
-C --critical display critical only level debug messages
--force-reader-polling ignore the IFD_GENERATE_HOTPLUG reader capability
pcscd.

If I remove the "syslog" option from the /etc/init.d/pcscd script it works fine.

What do you call "the "syslog" option from the /etc/init.d/pcscd script"?

I can't reproduce the bug.

Invalid bug. /etc/init.d/pcscd do not have a "syslog" option

Changed in pcsc-lite (Ubuntu):
assignee: nobody → Ludovic Rousseau (ludovic-rousseau-gmail)
