Bug Description

When I turn on the PC the network manager connects fine to my router and obtains an IP automatically

but when I do a restart, it cannot obtain an IP .. the result appaarent in Knetworkmanager is that my IP 0.0.0.0

During the noted restart process, there appears to be error messages related to NetworkManager in relation to D-Bus

I cannot read the exact error because it scrolls fast .. and I don't know where a log resides if any

It appears it cannot reconnect except when I turn the PC off then I turn it on again

interface: eth0

Router: 3com officesuite

Release: Kubuntu Hardy Heron

Thank you for filing this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately you have not provided enough information to help us look into this bug. Can you please specify the version of knetworkmanager you are having in your computer?

By "restart" do you mean, clicking on shutdown icon and selecting restart from it, or shutting down the machine, waiting for sometime and then turning it on again? When you encounter the bug, does manually configuring the IP address works? If so, what happens when you shutdown the machine and start it after some time?

In addition can you also follow https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingNetworkManager and attach the capture log to your log report as a separate individual attachment to the report. Thanks in advance.
