Bug Description

In 5.04 Hoary release Turkish layout works perfect but in 5.10 breezy Function
keys, "i", capital "İ" and lots of Turkish chars doesn't work. I tried on and on
... installed breezy lots of time. And changed environment variables. But i
didn't fix it.

Then i installed hoary and changed repos to breezy and it's working now.
What should i do for breezy release?

Is this a problem with Turkish input at the console, with Turkish input in X, or
both?

I'm in dapper, and can confirm this for the console (tty 1 2 3 etc) only. gnome-terminal and desktop works.

PS. using tr-alt layout, characters like ı ü ö ş ç can't be typed.

Are you sure? They can be typed using the AltGr (right Alt) key, hence
the name. I have no problems with that.

hmmm.. may be I didn't set the console keyboard correctly to use tr-alt? I just tried

sudo dpkg-reconfigure console-data

but it didn't list me a tr-alt?

correction: just tried again, it did give me an alternative like this:

~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure console-data
Looking for keymap to install:
tralt

but ı ü ö etc can't be typed. furthermore, trying to type them disorients the console (such as, when you "backspace" on the characters you tried to type, the symbols of ~ and $ in front of username: get erased)

this is dapper up-to-date [repeating for reference]

one more comment (soooorry): by console I mean ctrl+alt+fX :) just didn't want a confusion with gnome-terminal and such :)
