Bug Description
I't terrible to whait first time using rhythmbox what user have to import all
music to database. This process manual and very long. And what happend, when
directories moving? Or something happend when importing (there is bugs in this)?
Of course, cleanig base of moving directories is a way, but for end user lost
music from base, which in which he ones import ALL his music is lost for ever,
if he usual use rhythmbox. This is a true whith MP3 CD music too - after import
and starting rhythmbox whithout this MP3 CD, music from this MP3 CD lost from
rhythmbox base for ever.
Why user HAVE TO serve rhythmbox importing music - lets rhythmbox HELP user.
Then user listern any music file first time rhythmbox get all imformation about
this file and can import it in it's database in background. In next using of
rhythmbox user can see all music, which he listern last time - it help him to
find it more faster.
Also puting this process in background we can make it more intellectual. If
rhythmbox don't find music, it delete it, but it can jast hide it from database.
And then next time user listern this music from another directory (he moved it
for example or put in CDROM disk) rhythmbox compare new music with hidden and if
info about files the same (file size and name) it can make import faster, jast
changing new files path. And all this things can run in background and hidden
from user. He jast get results.
Another way to make process of importing faster - merge database with nautilus,
totem and another players. As result - jast brousing in nautilus or listern in
totem add music to rhythmbox database. It's true for radiochanels too. For this
functions need to create some plugins.
Hope my ideas can be useful for all linux users and help to increase usability
of linux.
Thanks for your bug. Could you make a clear description about what you want? ie:
summarize with one line your issue? A bugzilla page usually describe one issue
you have. What you want is forcing user to pick song after song to add them
instead of loading a directory?
