Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

This stream causes problems with the Totem plugin on Hardy:
http://www.abc.net.au/science/broadband/catalyst/asx/Catalyst16_vortex_hi.asx

Totem renders the first frame of the steam OK, and there continues to be data downloaded via the network, but no further rendering takes place. I couldn't be sure whether or not this was the same bug as others have reported, so reporting as new.

Cheers
JP

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Intrepid Ibex. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

Using cli and mplayer I can download the file at http://www.radionz.co.nz/__data/assets/audio_item/0008/1699424/sat-20080809-0845-Richard_Stallman_Freedom-m048.asx which then plays fine.

$ mplayer -playlist url -dumpfile out.mpg -dumpstream
