firefox freezes when multiple tabs open+youtube video

In firefox 3 beta 5, I'm getting freezes. The theme seems to be when I have more than 1 tab open when one of them has a youtube video open. I'm assuming this applies to flash in general. But after a few mins with this setup, pausing and playing seem to cause firefox to freeze. After a force quit, I must restart the OS to reopen firefox. Flash seems to work fine when only 1 tab is open though.

Can you find what you are using to play flash? In firefox, go to: about:plugins, and look out for any sections talking about flash.

Does uninstalling flash make this issue go away?

Yes, I cannot make firefox freeze after uninstalling flash. But like I said in the OP, playing/pausing a flash video on youtube is what seemed to cause the freezing. With flash uninstalled, I can't play/pause. But yea, it seems to be a problem with adobe flash

ok, most likely one of the many dupes we have on crashing/freezing
... we cannot fix that. only thing i can offer is to encourage you to
test free flash solutions. try mozilla-plugin-gnash package ... or
even swfdec-mozilla - both not perfect, but good for many use-cases.
