Bug Description

Release Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron (italian language)

During normal application updates,
system begins to give errors

With EVERY packages,

this is my translation from italian of the message error appeared:

dpkg-deb: impossible create a directory: no file or directory
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/NAMEOFEVERYPACKAGE.deb (--unpack):
subprocess dpkg-deb --control returned error exit status 2

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Installation of a package failed

Probably important info:

- system downloaded correctly everything (i'm trying to upgrade 43 packages)
- simply don't install them
- few minutes before this upgrade, system crashed due of lack of electricity
while was downloading the same upgrade packages

Thanks,
Paolo B
