Bug Description

Hi..
I used Hardy Alpha6 and Beta. There was no system freezes or lockups ever.
But when the official Hardy was released, a lot of people faced some freezes, nothing works except the mouse.
in ubuntuforums.com (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=5100688) someone said the real-time kernel solves the problem.
so I installed the (2.6.24-16-rt) kernel. The freezes was less than before. But it still freezes !.
I update the system all the time, and now I don't face any freezes.

Except when I restart my computer and I don't start "rhythmbox" and play anything, then I open a video file with "totem" the system freezes !!
And when I restart, then play any audio file with "rhythmbox", "totem" works fine without any freeze. Even if I closed "rhythmbox", since I started it in that session no freeze happen !.

I hope this helps.

Regards..
MaXo..

for the record, I'm using the (2.6.24-17-generic) now. And I uninstalled the (-rt) kernel since it had the freezes.
And I found the bug explained above while using the (2.6.24-17-generic) kernel.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at [WWW] https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. Mr. Bacher..

I'm so sorry if I caused any trouble. I'm using Ubuntu since 7.04, and it's the first time I had a freeze problem with Hardy. so, I panicked and I thought I help.
I will take your words as a lesson for me. I'll look at the links you gave me, And I'll be more careful next time.

Sorry again and best wishes,
MaXo..

there is no trouble but the description is somewhat confused and it seems rather than you are asking for informations on the issue than describing a bug, especially than gstreamer can't freeze your system, that's rather a linux or xorg issue
