Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-image
The module garmin_gps.ko incorrectly assumes you're using usbfs. I found some other posts online confirming this.

The posted work-around of simply mounting usbfs works, but isn't optimal. As a side note, having this module blacklisted is pretty confusing for people upgrading from Feisty or Gutsy and then all of the sudden their GPS stops working...
FYI - Ubuntu 8.04

This bug was reported against the linux-meta package when it likely should have been reported against the linux package instead. We are automatically transitioning this to the linux kernel package so that the appropriate teams are notified and made aware of this issue. Thanks.
