Bug Description

Hi
After applying the upgrades of 31-may-2008 i got into a problem with my appearances , so when i try to change the desktop background wallpaper nothing happens , i click on them but nothing change , i tried to delete "gnome" and "gnome2" folders in my home folder but that didn't help.
later on i found that when clicking so many times on any of the wallpapers some of them changes , some times it needs 3 clicks and some times 10 clicks.
To make sure that its not related to my hardware or something else , i did the same upgrade on my laptop at the same day and i got the same result, so i think this should be a bug, but I don't know which upgrade package did the damage for me.
Thanks

Yesterday i reinstalled Ubuntu 8.04 on my computer again hoping that the problem will disappear , but after installing Ubuntu and all the updates and rebooting as required , i found the same problem happening again.
Is there anything need to be provided with this report so i can attach or give details about?
Thanks

Same problem here after updating today. I can change the background using
terminal. It appears the problem is widespread.

Latest updates 6-3-08 didn't help here. I refreshed update manager and it
shows up to date system.

Same issue here. If I hammer the mouse button on the image I want to use in Appearance, then eventually it will select it, but that's not ideal obviously. I have noticed though, then when I use Gnome Appearance, the CPU usage shoots through the roof. I have the System Monitor applet on my panel, and it shows 100% usage when using Gnome Appearance.

The workarounds work (terminal or cursor buttons to change wallpaper rather than mouse clicks), but there's clearly an issue with Gnome Appearance.
