Workspace switcher displays wrong X screen

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

As stated in a previous bug report comment (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/110899/comments/2): when using a dual screen setup, the workspace switcher at screen1 displays the contents of screen0. A "hack" to fix this is to remove the workspaces switcher at screen1 and later add it again.

I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 on a laptop with a LCD screen connected to the VGA port.

The tool that has been used for the dual screen setup is nvidia-settings (X Server Display Configuration -> Display -> Configure -> Separate X screen). No manual X configuration has been done.

I can confirme this on my setup as well... using nvidia-settings and dual X displays
