Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

After the update from Firefox 3b5 to Firefox 3rc1 (Hardy Proposed) the language support is broken.

1. The add-ons Firefox (de) 3.0b5 and Xulrunner (de) 1.9.b5 should have been uninstalled.
2. The installation of the new add-ons selected the wrong language, (en-GB) instead of (de)

The attached graphic has been produced within a new profile.

just keep updating your system. the new language packs should be in hardy-proposed already.

Thanks,
currently received the new language pack. It has replaced the b5 package and works fine.

But I can't understand the reason for the (en-GB) add-on, which is still noted in my system. Have a look a the attached graphic, it doesn't bother me but I can't figure out why it really works.
A simple rm outside the packet-manager shouldn't be the appropriate action.

Try to upgrade your system again. Your translations should be on the
mirror by now.

I've updated from hardy-proposed (main server repo), and it seems that there is no update for mozilla-firefox-locale-es-es.

that package is not the one of concern. remove it. install
language-pack-es instead.

maybe you ran firefox 2 once in the meantime. stop ffox, remove your
extensions cache files:

 find $HOME/.mozilla/ -name extensions.\*

and see if things get better.

No, it's still in English, even with a clean profile. Where is the language xpi file for Firefox 3 supposed to be packed, in language-pack-es?

yes, actually in language-pack-es-base, but that should get installed
at the same time.

Ok, it's solved for me now. The strange thing is that I had to reinstall language-pack-es-base because my /<email address hidden>/chrome/ and /<email address hidden>/chrome/ folders where empty.

After the reinstallation the jar files appeared and work. I don't know if other users have experimented this behavior.

sounds like a transition issue from moving translations from language-pack-gnome to language-pack.
